Upcoming IDC and IE Schedule

Great News All!

PADI is coming to Nashville April 21-22, 2012 to conduct an Instructor Examination!  We are coordinating the exact location with PADI at this time but it will be here.

What you need to do to get ready –

1.    Let us know if you are interested in attending so we can do some planning

2.    Complete your Emergency First Response Instructor Program – you need to already have a current (24Months) CPR/AED/First Aid/ and Care for Children certification as a prerequisite.  If you do not already have this we can help you with it.  We are offering the EFRI Program for $250 plus the Instructor crewpack for $195.  It only takes a day to complete and we are flexible in scheduling this for you.  Or we will have it scheduled for Friday April 20th, the day before the IE.

3.
Complete your IDC pre-study on-line.  We are now asking that all candidates complete this prior to the IDC.  It saves time for you and allows you to complete part of the program at your leisure.  Follow this Link to your IDC online which is $320 which you pay to PADI https://www.padi.com/elearning-scuba-registration/default.aspx?irra=18823

How long do you have to complete the eLearning course?
The eLearning segment of the course is available for one year from the time of course registration.

What is the minimum amount of time it will take to complete this eLearning program?
The PADI IDC online will take approximately 7 - 8 hours to complete.

How do you document that you've completed the eLearning segment?
Once you finish the eLearning portion of the course, your dive centre is notified that you have completed it and that you are ready for the practical phase of the program. At the end of the eLearning program, you can print out your eRecord and bring a copy of it with you to your selected PADI 5 Star IDC Dive Center or Resort.

4.    Also recommended is completing Dive Theory online before your IE, which can be reached through the same link above. Completing this also means you do not have to do the Dive Theory test during the IDC and is a great prep for your IE.  There is a better than average possibility that by the April IE that if you have completed Dive Theory online then you will not have to take the Dive Theory Exam at the IE either, but that is not confirmed yet but it will become effective sometime in 2012.

5.     Order your IDC Crewpack, you can get them here at Island Hoppers for just $570.00 through the end of the year.

6.
Pick your IDC dates and get signed up! We need a $100 Deposit to confirm your spot as we are limited to 8 candidates.  We expect this program to fill up since there is an IE just after it.  The price for the IDC program is $850.00 for 2012 as long as you have completed the online portion.

IDC Dates:

April 14-19 2012 – Orientation April 14 at 5PM here at Island Hoppers.  The rest of the program you can plan on 9-6 everyday.  That leaves you Friday the 20th to complete any make-up work and rest up before the IE which starts Saturday at 7AM.

Or

April 6-8 and 13-15 2012 which is the weekend program.  It will meet 9-6 every day for two weekends
(Friday – Sunday) hopefully finishing on the 14th with Sunday the 15th for any make-up work and wrap up.

IE Dates:

April 21-22 2012 – Location to be set for Saturday, Sunday will be at Martha’s Quarry.  IE Fee $525.00 plus $132.00 registration fee.
